Conference Speakers

Louise Fraser

Louise joined COSLA in 2018 as a Programme Officer and is part of the myjobscotland team, supporting recruitment across Scottish Local Government.

Before joining COSLA Louise worked in the HR teams at Orkney Islands Council and Forth Valley College, where she first got to know myjobscotland as a customer. This experience gave her valuable insight into both the candidate and recruiter perspectives, which she now applies to her role.

She joined the Youth Employability Group to support efforts to address hard-to-fill roles, promote careers in Local Government, and tackle the underrepresentation of young people in the sector. Louise is particularly interested in innovative approaches to recruitment, reducing duplication of digital services, and inspiring the next generation.

Her current projects include creating promotional content to highlight careers in local government and supporting developments in alternative application methods for entry-level careers.
